Wadsworth Community Centre Old Town Hebden Bridge HX7 8RY
Wadsworth Community Association is a charitable organisation established to support the residents of Wadsworth Parish and its immediate neighbourhood.
About the Organisation
Wadsworth Community Association is a small charity, run by volunteers, that supports the residents of Old Town, Pecket Well and the surrounding farms. We manage the Wadsworth Community Centre and we are committed to advancing education opportunities, providing facilities for local recreation and social welfare, and working to improve the conditions of life for local people. The Centre hosts regular activities and events open to the public and is also a venue for private parties as it is equipped with two function rooms, a bar and kitchen facilities. Booking of private functions is the main focus of the role.
Responsibilities:
Take enquiries about hiring the centre, complete Booking Forms and take payment for private bookings. Help people understand how to use the centre facilities safely and in a way which will support their event, and make sure hirers can access the centre when they need to and that the building is secured after use. Make sure all bookings are paid for and fees are recorded and banked in accordance with the procedures.
Record all bookings to avoid double bookings and arrange cleaning.
You will be responsible for ensuring that hirers can access the Centre for their events but other volunteers on our team will help with this.
If you go on holiday, you can brief others who will look after your responsibilities while you are away.
What are we looking for?
What will you get from us?
The Bookings Secretary will be part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers who make sure the Community Centre is well used by the local community. This is a perfect role for someone who is well organised, enjoys meeting people and can carry out routine administration reliably without supervision. You will need to be comfortable meeting new people in person, fielding a wide range of enquiries and requests and using online tools such as Google calendar and WhatsApp,
This is an ideal role for someone looking to gain some administration experience and also wants to get to know their local community better.
We will provide detailed written information about the booking procedures and members of the team will be happy to provide ongoing support and advice. You will never need to face difficulties on your own.
The responsibilities of this post are varied. It could become a valuable entry in someone's Curriculum Vitae. It is also a great way to get to know the village. We will cover any expenses incurred.
