About the Organisation
The Dodnaze Community Association was set up in 2001 in order to provide opportunities and activities for the residents of Dodnaze and the surrounding hillside.
A number of dedicated residents worked hard to raise money, mainly in the form of grants, to enable an unused shop to be turned into a Community Centre, which was opened in September 2004.
The Centre offers a range of activities for local residents and people from the wider community.
These roles involves organising events, working with a team, helping with the smooth functioning of a community centre, and getting to know lots of different people. If you are looking for valuable experience and new skills please get in touch. We can be flexible and work with what you have to offer.
As a Community Centre Assistant you will be more involved in the day to day running of the centre and supporting community activities. We are also looking for Warm Spaces volunteers this involves organising a warm space, handing out food parcels, assisting people in doing a creative task, also joining in and learning new skills, and making sure the session runs smoothly. The Warm Spaces sessions are on Thursdays from 2pm- 4:30pm.
