These volunteers will be ale to help shape the care and services provided at their hospitals in Halifax and Huddersfield, and by community health teams.
The volunteers known as Experts by Experience or Patient Saftey Partners, due to the knowledge and experince they have developed whilst using or caring for someone who has been or is a patient.
You do not have to have any specific skills, just experience of using health services at their hospitals or in the community as a patient or carer in the last five years.
They need volunteers who represent all the communities they serve in Calderdale and Kirklees and would be especially grateful to volunteers who can strengthen the voice of people from different ethnic and social backgrounds.
The volunteers can be flexible in the amount of time they can provide, and they will be well supported by a member of the team at the hospital.
If you would like to know more about the roles here is their Chief Nurse, Lindsay Rudge introducing the opportunities in a short video: https://youtu.be/X5eApyB1H2E?si=llxwOfoJcQ17tsKk
