Following the announcement from the Department for Education of the extension of the Holiday Activities and Food programme in England for this year, Feeding Britain are pleased to announce additional funding to holiday clubs during the Easter and May half-term holidays to complement this.
Feeding Britain’s funding is available to organisations across the UK running holiday clubs during Easter and May half-term holidays that can provide additional places for children who are living in poverty but not eligible for statutory support (e.g., the Holiday Activities and Food Programme or Free School meals).
The holiday clubs must offer enriching activities and provide meals that meet the School Foods Standards. Organisations can apply for funding to apply places to their holiday programmes for either or both the Easter and May half-term holidays.
Feeding Britain can award up to £10 per place per day (i.e. a place for 1 child for 1 day). There is no upper limit on the amount of funding an organisation can apply for, but please be aware that they are expecting a high volume of applications and are keen to support holiday clubs across the UK.
They hope to have funding agreements in place by mid-March and grants transferred to organisations before the start of the Easter Holidays. The application process will also include a check of safeguarding policies and procedures.
They’re aiming to support as many organisations as possible in this round and are expecting more funding to be available later in the year for a second funding round for the Summer and October half-term holidays.
They also welcome applicants from local authorities and HAF coordinators who can apply on behalf og holiday clubs in their area and prioritise funding based on local need. Please be aware however that there is limited funding and Feeding Britain are keen to spread this across a wide area. Combined applications can be made using this application form.
