The joyous occasion featured a heartwarming sing-along, spreading cheer to all in attendance.
The choir which is led by Andrew Hinton and Suzi Phillips, began in 2021 and encourages residents from the Shelf retirement housing community Witchfield Grange as well as the wider community to come together every week for a couple of enjoyable and relaxing hours and engage in the therapeutic practice of singing.
The group has vastly improved the overall well-being and confidence of many participants, with some taking on the challenge of performing their first solo part at their Christmas event.
During their Christmas extravaganza, the audience was treat to festive favourites such as “Night of Silence/Silent Night”, “Let it Snow” and the Hawaiian-themed hit by Bing Crosby “Mele Kalikimaka”.
The choir also performed classics from The Beatles, a cheery rendition of “Oom-Pah-Pah” from the 1968 musical film Oliver! As well as a wonderful guitar solo from the resident guitarist Roger.
The morning was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and we each left with excitement for the upcoming festivities and Winter break.
Members of the choir were thrilled to share their harmonies with friends and family, and also with each other — a true display of togetherness.
