Linnean Society’s Our Local Nature Grants Upcoming Deadline

Community organisations across the UK have until 24th October to apply for a grant of up to £1,000 to deliver projects and activities that engage young people with local natural spaces and improve their understanding of local biodiversity.

Linnean Society will support groups to deliver innovative projects that are designed and led by young people, such as:

  • Running a school festival about nature
  • Painting community murals showcasing biodiversity in the area
  • Building or restoring a community garden
  • Creating a nature walk
  • Hiring a speaker to come and talk about local foraging

Grants can be used for materials, room hire, publicity, speakers, trainers, freelancers, project-specific staff costs, audiovisual hire, reasonable volunteer expenses, transport, or other costs of activities/events.

Maximum award amount is £1,000. However, groups are encouraged to apply for significantly lower amounts. Proposed projects should commence in January 2025 and be finished by the end of June 2025.
