As a result, NCVO have announced that they’re working with ACEVO (Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary organisations) and the government to develop the Civil Society Covenant.
This framework will look to reset how government, local and national, engages with the sector, with the aim of creating lasting and positive change.
The Civil Society Covenant offers a unique opportunity for change. Decisions made by government, and its subsidiaries, play a massive role in our sector; impacting on our work and ultimately the communities they serve.
They have an opportunity to change this, to build long-term partnerships that are advantageous to charities and community organisations across civil society.
Your voice matters. Whether your organisation is charity, a social enterprise or a community group, here is an opportunity to share your experiences. NCVO are asking for your input to develop an agreement that truly places the voluntary sector at the heart of government decision-making.
