Parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Volunteering at Parkrun is an opportunity to get outside, make new friends, have fun, learn new skills and to be a valuable part of your local community
About the Organisation
Parkruns are volunteer-led, free-for-all 5k and 2k events which have been taken up by many people across many countries. People walk at parkrun, others jog, some run, many volunteer, and a few do a bit of everything! You can take part however you want, at whatever speed you want. Everyone is welcome and nobody comes last – there is a tail walker volunteer for that!
Our weekly team of volunteers are led by a small group of parkrun enthusiasts who form what we call the 'core team'. They make sure the event is setup and packed away each week, the results published, the tokens resorted, event reports written and so much more. You will need to arrive at 8.15am on Saturday and you will be finishing at 10.30am. If you know you want to volunteer, or find out more please email: halifax@parkrun.com or sign up on our future roster here: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/halifax/futureroster/

What will you get from us?
You can volunteer independently from age 14 and even from age 11, so long as you are accompanied by an appropriate adult.
There’s no experience needed and you don’t need to have been to a parkrun before. There are lots of roles to choose from and someone will show you what to do on the day. Check out our volunteer videos to see what it’s like. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoeMsRMBXw6v0FkdOK6u403i0z_X-IakT
