The Foundation supports projects working with children, young people and adults who are disadvantaged or with disabilities and offers small and major grants to charities and community amateur sports clubs in the UK and South East of England.
The closure is for both grant programmes.
- Active Lives Grant Programme offers grants of £5,001 to £30,000 to UK charities (priority given to those with an annual turnover of less than £5 million) to support grassroots sports projects which provide opportunities for self-development for people living in the most disadvantaged areas in the UK who encounter physical, mental, social, or economic barriers.
Priority will be given to applications that meet all of the following:
- Work with children and young people living in the top 10% of areas of deprivation (Indices of Multiple Deprivation decile 1) AND
- Are from organisations with a track record of working with this population AND
- Have a robust plan for wider impact of the project through dissemination, training etc.
After the closure, the Foundation plans to review its grantmaking strategy and processes to ensure that the funds they offer can have the greatest possible impact in the future. The full announcement can be read on the Foundation’s website.
