About the Organisation

Scouts has grown for the last 13 years. We want to continue that positive trend, bringing skills for life to more young people across the UK. We're transforming volunteering at Scouts to make it easier, more enjoyable and rewarding. Each week, our volunteers help young people gain skills for life through activities and adventures. Most of our volunteers work directly with young people aged 4 to 18 through our groups, However, there are plenty of behind the scenes roles Not sure how you'd like to help yet, or how much time you have to give? . Your local team can chat you through a whole host of options – including flexible and occasional volunteering. These roles are also ideal for 14-18s and students who want to complete their Duke of Edinburgh Award

We warmly welcome young people to join our volunteer teams. They may be DofE volunteers, those who have come up through Scouting or individuals who are looking to support their local community. Young Leaders are aged between 13.5yrs and 18 who volunteer with Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts or Scouts. They are key members of the leadership teams, involved in planning programmes, running activities and making sure the kids have a great time.

We provide our volunteers with the tools and tips to feel trained, supported and happy in your role. Discover the training to build on existing skills and knowledge and develop new competencies. At the Scouts we want to thank our volunteers for their contribution and we do this through Good Service Awards, which can make a significant contribution to your CV and employment opportunities
