Ignite Creativity, Calderdale’s local cultural education partnership (LCEP), is moving onto the next stage in its Youth Voice Project and needs your help to get involved, tell them your thoughts and help shape the future of cultural activities for young people in Calderdale.

Ignite Creativity works to advocate for, support and strategically develop the cultural education of children and young people throughout Calderdale.

LCEPs were first developed by Arts Council England in partnership with the Department for Education in 2015 in response to the cultural education challenge and now exist in regions across the country.

Every child should have the opportunity to tap into their creative side and express themselves freely through the arts, in turn giving our youth more qualifications and a bigger and brighter future.

Ignite Creativity’s Youth Voice Survey wants to hear from those in Calderdale who are:

  • 12-16 year olds
  • Arts and cultural organisations/practitioners that support young people
  • Parents, guardians and carers
  • School teachers, support staff, management and governors
  • Youth voice services and infrastructure

The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and all data and information will be kept anonymous.

The Youth Voice Survey can be accessed here: Ignite Creativity Youth Voice Survey

If you would prefer, Ignite Creativity can arrange 1-1 calls, visits or Zoom sessions to guide you through the questions or even a facilitated session with a group of young people you work with.

If this option is more suitable for you, please contact Sammi at sammi@ignite-creativity.org.uk

Data gathered from the Youth Voice Survey will be released at the end of this year in the Youth Voice report. The report will be shared across the sector and used to develop the ways that Calderdale uplifts and inspires the next generation to reach their full potential.
