About the Organisation
The Charity Shop Gift Card was dreamt up by two passionate charity shoppers who saw a gap in the market for a sustainable gift card that could unite charity shops on the high-street and champion the circular economy. Borne out of a passion for charity shops and necessity, they wanted to find a solution that would enable people experiencing financial hardship to shop ‘for free’ in charity shops so that they could choose the items they need with dignity and autonomy.
Charity gift card seeks to make funds available to people for whom charity shopping is a necessity rather than a choice. We are a social enterprise and 65% of our profits goes towards funding free gift cards to people who need them via councils, housing associations and other support agencies. Charity Shop Gift Card is also available for anyone wanting to purchase more sustainably.
We have a variety of roles suitable for people with IT skills including;
Social Media - for anyone with basic understanding of social media that is looking to give back or gain work experience.
Administration - for anyone with basic IT skills including searching internet and adding information to a spreadsheet.
Website development - this role requires some web development skills with ideally a working understanding of WordPress websites

What will you get from us?
We need people who are flexible and can work remotely, who have interpersonal skills and an understanding of the ways in which they could support the development of our social enterprise digitally including social media, web development and database inputting and administration.
We are a small team and although we work remotely, we work closely and pay attention to the needs of our team. Being a small social enterprise, you'll have the chance to have a tangible impact on our development, working closely with two of the co-founders. As the majority of the profits of the business fund free gift cards for users of foodbanks, refuges and other support agencies, your work can help those most disadvantaged in our society.

The Charity Shop Gift Card is a gift card that can only be spent in participating charity shops. It’s an ideal gift for consumers looking to shop more consciously as well as a great option for councils and support agencies that provide support to people in financial hardship.
