The Community Risk Management Plan is a three-year plan which sets out the priorities for the Service and provides an overview of how West Yorkshire Fire Service intend to achieve their ambition of ‘Making West Yorkshire Safer’, manage the risks within West Yorkshire, and meet the challenges facing the Service.
Initial pre-consultation has taken place and they are now in the process of drafting the new plan, and going out to formal consultation. As part of the formal consultation and engagement process they are developing five focus groups; one within each of our districts.
Within the next few weeks they will set up an initial meeting with each group to provide information around:
- Their current successes and achievements.
- How they view and manage risk within the communities.
- How their departments support them as a fire and rescue service.
- The consultation process and what they require from you.
The meeting dates haven’t been confirmed yet, but there will be one meeting in December 2024 and another in February/March 2025. There will be opportunity to attend in person or online and the meetings will last approximately one hour.
The overall process will involve taking a look at our revised Community Risk Management Plan 2025/28, sharing your thoughts on the plan, and completing a questionnaire.
