Our volunteers play a vital role at Horton Housing by helping us to deliver good quality services including our Early Intervention and Prevention service
About the Organisation
Horton Housing is a not-for-profit housing association that provides housing, training, care and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. Our YPASS service offers accommodation and support for young people, aged between 16 and 25, who are experiencing homelessness in Calderdale. We achieved our Investing in Volunteers award in 2022
You will call people who have been referred to our Young Persons’ Prevention and Support Service (YPASS) and offer support to them as they wait to be allocated a support worker.
YPASS supports people who are aged between 16 and 25, and are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
You will be a listening ear to the young person being referred and encourage the people we support to attend activities held at the scheme. The role also involves uploading referrals to a secure online database, logging notes and completing forms.
Duties will include:
In person and telephone befriending.
Encouraging clients to attend sessions in scheme and in the local community.
Uploading referrals to a secure online database, logging notes and completing forms.
