As a result of the Get Britain Working White Paper opportunities, the newly created West Yorkshire Work Health and Skills Plan and the NHS Accelerator, CFFC have a call in Calderdale to support local residents to take steps towards employment or retain employment from three key partners:
- West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA)
- Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council
- Calderdale Cares Partnership (NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB))
There are two programme strands within this fund – Trailblazer and Accelerator.
The funders recognise the important role that Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations play in engaging individuals and communities to deliver transformative outcomes. VCSE organisations are invited to apply to run Trailblazer and/or Accelerator programmes through one simple application process.
Both programmes involve delivery of holistic wraparound services to Calderdale residents:
Trailblazer – identify and engage people who are economically inactive and furthest from the labour market and support them to take steps towards employment.
Accelerator – provide an outreach service to deliver a range of interventions for people with one or more fit note, at risk of losing employment due to health conditions.
Please read the full guidance below for more detailed information on each programme.
How much funding is available?
Trailblazer – you can apply for up to £25,000
Accelerator – you can apply for up to £80,000
Trailblazer and Accelerator are pilot programmes, and you can apply for one or both programmes. Please note each programme has separate monitoring requirements. The pilots will end before 31st March 2026.
If you are successful in applying to the Accelerator programme, you will be asked to contract with the NHS. You can find more information on this in the guidance below.
Applications Timeline
- Applications open: Monday 2nd June 2025
- Applications close: 10am Monday 16th June 2025
They hope to be able to notify applicants of decisions by early July. It’s possible this timeline may change depending on the number of applications. If there is a large response, it will take longer to assess and deliberate on allocations. They will keep you up to date on the timeline with regular email updates.
Please note that applications that are submitted at the last minute, may not meet the deadline. A surge in submissions can result in a delay in the automated processing. These applications will not be accepted. As most funds are oversubscribed, priority is given to applications submitted on time. To be sure of your application arriving before the deadline, apply a minimum of a day beforehand.
How to apply
This programme is managed by the Community Foundation for Calderdale, on behalf of Calderdale Council and Calderdale Cares Partnership (NHS West Yorkshire ICB).
