About the Organisation
At The Turning Point we are very proud of our history and the role the local Churches have played in our development.
The Turning Point Counselling Service is an organisational Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). It is bound by its ethical framework for good practice and is subject to its professional conduct procedure.
Could you spare 2-3 hours per week to work with us to offer a welcoming space and encouragement for those who may be feeling lonely or isolated? Have you an interest that you would like to share and that would bring others together? Would you like to work with us to offer a welcoming space for refugees and asylum seekers in our area? The Turning Point Counselling Service in Brighouse is seeking volunteers to assist in establishing and operating a welcome hub. For nearly 25 years, the charity's vision has been to enhance health and well-being, foster resilience, and instill confidence and hope in individuals.
Many people live isolated and lonely lives, and we aim to unite them to form small communities centred around common interests. Funding is in place to create groups open to all, such as craft and chatter, knit and natter, a jigsaw club, and other groups that will bring people together with a common interest. In collaboration with Calderdale Valley of Sanctuary, we will also be opening a welcoming space for refugees and asylum seekers in our area. Through this joint effort, we’re able to provide vital resources and opportunities for refugees and people seeking asylum, helping them to integrate and contribute to the fabric of our communities.
